My Lord,
With reference to Your Lordship's
telegram of the 30th September, 1920, I have the honour
to confirm my telegram of the 6th October which stated
that this Government is willing that the selection of
Police Probationers for service in Hongkong should be effected by means of the joint examination for appoint-
ments in the Indian Police and for entrance into the
Army and Air Force.
I informed Your Lordship also that there
would be no vacancies for Police Probationers during
1921.
I enclose a revised statement of the
condition of appointment for the information of the
Civil Service Commissioners.
